Four Candidates for Next Bishop of the Diocese of San Joaquin Announced
The ACNA diocese of San Joaquin has publicly announced the four finalists selected to be placed upon the ballot on May 14 in their election of a successor to Bishop John-David Schofield. These four candidates include the highly-regarded dean of our own St. Vincent's Cathedral, the Very Rev. Ryan S. Reed, along with three other fine men of God.
Almighty God, giver of every good gift: Look graciously on your Church, and so guide the minds of those who shall choose a bishop for the diocese of San Joaquin, that they may receive a faithful pastor, who will care for your people and equip them for their ministries; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

One of the candidates is an authentic Holy Roller who practices glossolalia in private - according to his question/answer sheet. Just what the church needs...less dignity than it already has (and that's not much at all)
I'm sorry to jump in like this, Texanglican, but Kelso is wrong. There are no authentic Holy Rollers among the 4 nominees.
And as far as "glossolaliasts" go, the entire Roman Catholic Church stands on the shoulders of someone who spoke in tongues.
More to the point, where do the candidates stand on WO?
Dr. Tighe, all four of the candidates say in their answers to the questionnaire that they will continue the present policy of the diocese although one of them (Jackson+) seems to have no objection himself but will bend to the will of the diocese's decision-making institutions. The other three make it clear they are personally opposed to ordaining women to the presbyterate on theological grounds.
Thanks for this good information. It corresponds with what someone who met Jackson some 20 years ago when he was a candidate for Dean (or President) of TESM (the appointment went to Bishop Frey instead) told me, that he didn't seem at all opposed to WO, nor very much concerned with the question.
Great post. Many thanks! dragracerv3game.com
