"The Preachers chiefly shall take heed that they teach nothing in their preaching, which they would have the people religiously to observe and believe, but that which is agreeable to the Doctrine of the Old Testament and the New, and that which the Catholick Fathers and Ancient Bishops have gathered out of that Doctrine." A proposed canon of Elizabeth I, 1571

Inside Scoop on the Primates' Meeting

The Living Church has a fascinating account of what went on behind closed doors at the Primates' Meeting last week. It looks like TEC just barely dodged the expulsion bullet. There were "tears and raised voices" at one point. And things could still have fallen apart as late as the 8:30 PM dinner break on the last day of the meeting. It is near miraculous that a document as good as the one that came out (even if it has some flaws) was actually produced. May God bless the Global South leaders for standing up for the Truth so vigorously.
