"The Preachers chiefly shall take heed that they teach nothing in their preaching, which they would have the people religiously to observe and believe, but that which is agreeable to the Doctrine of the Old Testament and the New, and that which the Catholick Fathers and Ancient Bishops have gathered out of that Doctrine." A proposed canon of Elizabeth I, 1571

More North American Consecrations of Orthodox Anglican Bishops in Virginia

Another major development in North American Anglicanism took place this weekend in Virginia. Four new bishops, including two Americans, were consecrated bishops for CANA. The principal consecrator was Archbishop Akinola of Nigeria, but Bishop Duncan of Pittsburgh (moderator of the Network), Bishop Frank Lyons of the Province of the Southern Cone, Bishop John Guernsey, Missionary Bishop for the Province of Uganda, and Bishop John Ball, Diocese of Chelmsford, Church of England, as well as Bishop Kwashi of Nigeria also took part. That is the Common Cause Partnership in action!
